Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) department of Government of Tamilnadu has sanctioned Karur Paper Board Cluster for the creation of upgraded production infrastructure as a Common Facility Centre (CFC) for the micro units to manufacture value added paper board products under the scheme of “Micro Cluster Development Programme (MCDP)” vide Proc. No.9774/CDC/2022 dated 21.11.2022.

Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tamilnadu is the Nodal Agency for the scheme. As per the scheme guidelines, the cluster specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) has been formed, to implement the project. We, M/s.Amarawathi Board Manufacturers Private Limited, is the SPV formed for the implementation of the cluster.

The main objective of the CFC is to provide access to state-of-the-art equipment and technology, enabling micro units to get benefit from the latest technology in their production processes without the burden of high individual investment costs.

ITCOT Limited, popularly known as ITCOT, is the state technical consultancy organization, promoted by all India financial institutions, State Development Corporations and Commercial Banks. ITCOT has wide experience in providing support services to micro and small enterprises under various government schemes.

ITCOT, having its head office at Chennai, Tamilnadu has project offices at Erode and Salem involved in enterprise promotion and development. ITCOT has been empanelled as Technical Agency under SFURTI scheme by KVIC, Coir Board & PPDC.

Outcome of the CFC

Common Facility Centre would achieve turnover of minimum Rs.3.25 Crores (on User charge basis) in the first year of commercial operations from value added end user paper board products.Increased value addition of daily sheet calendar board, cake base board & lever arch file resulting in enhanced income for paper board products manufacturers by minimum 20%, on utilizing the CFC for value addition and marketing of finished products. Direct employment for about 400 persons and indirect employment for minimum 450 persons is anticipated in the cluster on implementation of the project.
Establishment of new units by converging various schemes of State and Central Governments (such as NEEDS, PMEGP, etc.) resulting in additional investments in paper board sector by the cluster members. Strong linkages among the Cluster members and actors in all levels of the value chain and an established Collaborative setup in place to undertake development initiatives & address common concerns.
Emergence of specialized support service providers and their active involvement in the development process. Improved access to financial capital for cluster members
